Welcome to Free Genealogy Resources for Madison County
Madison County was created February 18,1913 from Fremont County with its county seat at Rexburg. It was named for President James Madison, fourth president of the United States. Home to BYU-Idaho and a rapidly growing population of more than 40,000, it has almost double the population of 20 years ago. Agriculture remains the most important industry. Our objective is to provide free genealogical resources to researchers. If you have information about Madison County, her communities and people, families who settled or lived in the county, local history, photos, or records relating to the area, since it officially became a county or before, or suggestions for us, we would like to hear from you. A significant number of additional resources will be added over the next few months. If you don't find what you are looking for on this visit, please come back again soon to check out the additions and changes as we grow and improve.
